Pesto Perfect Toast

Toast with mozzarella cheese, pesto, and hard boiled egg


  • 1 Slice Love Sprout Live Lean Clean Protein Machine Bread

  • 1 Slice mozzarella cheese

  • Pesto sauce

  • 1 Egg (hard boiled)

  • 2 Cups basil

  • 3 Cloves garlic

  • 1/2 Cup pine nuts (or walnuts)

  • 3/4 Cup freshly grated hard cheese (such as Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino-Romano cheese, or a combo of the two)

  • 1/2 Cup olive oil

  • Kosher salt (to taste)


  1. Slice mozzarella cheese and place on toast.

  2. Make pesto:Combine all the ingredients except the oil and cheeses in a food processor. Pulse until the pesto is blended into a slightly coarse paste. Transfer to a bowl and stir in the oil and cheeses.

  3. Place pesto sauce on mozzarella cheese.

  4. Hard boiled egg: Place your egg in a pot and cover with cold water by 1 inch. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then cover, remove from the heat and set aside 8 to 10 minutes. Drain, cool in ice water and peel.

  5. Slice hard boiled egg and place on bread.

  6. Zest with spices and pepper mix.
