Heirloom Pesto Toast

Toast topped pesto sauce, heirloom tomatoes and peppers


  • 1 Slice Love Sprout Live Lean Clean Protein Machine bread.

  • 1 Heirloom tomato

  • 1 Yellow pepper

  • 2 Cups basil

  • 3 Cloves garlic.

  • 1/2 Cup pine nuts (or walnuts)

  • 3/4 Cup freshly grated hard cheese (such as Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino-Romano cheese, or a combo of the two)

  • 1/2 Cup olive oil.

  • Kosher salt (to taste)


  1. Cut heirloom tomato and yellow pepper.

  2. Make pesto: Combine all the ingredients except the oil and cheeses in a food processor.

  3. Pulse until the pesto is blended into a slightly coarse paste.

  4. Transfer to a bowl and stir in the oil and cheeses.

  5. Place pesto on bread and top with diced veggies.

  6. Serve.
